Statistical Analysis Shows Beach Cities Health Outcomes Similar to other High Income Local Cities - No BCHD Impact

stopbchd

Gallup used proprietary BCHD surveys to compute its health savings. We used publicly available data from a 2023 study by the LA County Department of Public Health that put all the LA County cities above 20,000 population on an unbiased footing.

Instead of comparing cities to irrelevant "Honey Boo Boo" national data like Gallup did, we compared to LA County SPA8, our peer cities.

We found that high income, non BCHD cities like RPV and Culver City outperformed the BCHD city of Redondo Beach in health outcomes. Manhattan Beach had the highest income level and best health in SPA8. Inglewood had the lowest income level and also the lowest health level in SPA8.

Health outcomes are related to household income levels, and BCHD intervention appears to have no impact. In fact, Redondo Beach underperformed its income level, even with BCHD intervention.
