BCHD's Expensive Bike Lane: 350% more than a freeway lane, 1,700% more than a high cost bike lane

We benchmarked (compared) BCHD costs for its bike lane to studies by the California Policy Institute and the UNC Chapel Hill. To be GENEROUS to BCHD, we DOUBLED the costs found by CPI and UNC to account for inflation. Not a 10% or 20% increase - WE DOUBLE THE COSTS.

As you see in the graph below, BCHD has locked in costs that are 3-1/2 time more than adding a single freeway lane and 17-times more than the most expensive project that UNC found in its study.
