BCHD Plan Falsely Claims its Plan Does Not Degrade Surrounding Visual Character
Over 99% of BCHD's current 312,000 sqft of campus buildings are 52-feet or LOWER.
BCHD Phase 1 development will be 300,000 sqft of new buildings at approximately 110-feet above Beryl & Flagler streets. As shown below, BCHD makes the false claim that its plan complies with both Redondo Beach and Torrance Municipal codes. A 110-foot tall building is wildly out of character for a 30 foot maximum height area. An 800,000 sqft development (Phase 1 + Phase 2) is larger than the entire Beryl Heights neighborhood and is out of character.
